A Seamless Experience Is Critical To Success – Get Mobile Ready

Let’s set the facts straight

80% of internet users browse with a Smartphone (i) and 78% of mobile searches for local business information result in purchase (ii). Your customers are all about mobile and to capture these sales, it’s critical that you are too. Research shows that 57% of mobile customers will abandon your site if it takes more than 3 seconds to load (iii). If you’re website is not optimised for mobile you’re simply shutting down any opportunity for new business before customers have even seen what you have to offer.

Now is the time to maximise your success by providing your customers with a seamless experience. It’s time to get mobile ready.

Test Your Website

First, find out if your website is optimised for mobile using Google’s Mobile Friendly Test. It is also important to view your website on a Smartphone and check the following:

  • Does your page load within a reasonable time (ideally 3 seconds)?
  • Is your content clearly visible without having to resize the page?
  • Is key information visible without scrolling sideways?
  • Are the links large enough to click on?
  • Is the website formatted correctly?

Consider Responsive Web Design (RWD)

We recently investigated why mobile responsive web design is a critical tool business success. Although there are many ways to make your website mobile-friendly, RWD is recommended by Google as the most effective method. Responsive web design uses a code to fluidly translate your webpage between different screen sizes, so customers can view your website on any device.

Be Speedy

We don’t want to divert customers away because your website won’t load. This is a common occurrence for mobile sites due to hardware and connectivity issues. To avoid this you can implement simple changes such as reducing redirects, compressing code and optimising image size. However, to guarantee quality speed, you must use a suitable hosting solution.
